BEFORE USING THE DEVICE, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING
INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY. CORRECT
APPLICATION IS VITAL TO THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE DEVICE.
INTENDED USE / INDICATIONS:
The STANDARD walking brace provides compressed air support for stable
fracture of foot and/or ankle, severe ankle sprains, and post-operative use.
Effective in fracture healing and the management of edema (swelling).
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
Do not over-inflate aircells. Improper aircell inflation may cause significant
skin irritation, especially in people with diabetic neuropathy (a diabetic
nerve condition). Check your skin frequently for “hot spots” and skin
irritation. If you see any skin changes or feelings of discomfort, reduce the
aircell compression. Do not use this device if you cannot feel sensations
whether due to post-op anesthesia, nerve, skin or other conditions.
Use caution when walking on slippery or wet surfaces to avoid injury.
APPLICATION INFORMATION:
A cotton or cast sock will enhance comfort
– NOT INCLUDED
1) PREPARE BRACE –
• Unfasten straps, remove front panel, and open liner.
2) APPLY BRACE –
• While seated, place foot in brace positioning the heel against the back
of the brace. Wrap liner around foot and then leg (Fig. A).
• Replace front panel: Position front panel so the Aircast logo is over the
toes and the upper part of the panel is secured to the liner (Fig. B).
• Secure straps from bottom to top (Fig. C). Tighten until snug and
comfortable.
3) ADJUST AIRCELL COMPRESSION –
The STANDARD walking brace aircells are initially deflated
• Begin inflation on injured side first. Turn the SELECTOR found on the
right-side of the brace to the appropriate number (Fig. D). Number 1
inflates the aircell on the right-side and Number 2 inflates the aircell on
the left-side. The “lock” position should be used once both aircells are
inflated. This prevents accidental deflation.
• To inflate aircell, place finger over small hole on top of large inflation
pump found on the top right side of brace (Fig E). Pump until aircell
feels snug.
• To inflate other aircell, rotate SELECTOR to the appropriate number and
then press and release large inflation pump. Pump until aircell feels snug.
When both aircells are inflated, rotate SELECTOR to “lock” position.
• In the event of over-inflation, deflate aircells.
4) DEFLATE AIRCELLS –
• To deflate aircells, turn the SELECTOR found on the right-side of the
brace to the proper aircell number (Fig. D).
• Press and hold finger on small release button found on the top
right-side of brace (Fig. F).
• Deflate until pressure is comfortable.
NOTE: Deflate aircells before removing brace for proper fit when
reapplying.
NOTE: Higher pressure provides more support when walking, lower
pressure is more comfortable when sitting or reclining. Pressure
can also be adjusted by tightening or loosening straps.
NOTE: The shell can be trimmed with a cast saw or cast scissors to
accommodate larger calves.

AVANT TOUTE UTILISATION DU PRODUIT. UNE MISE EN PLACE CORRECTE
EST INDISPENSABLE AU BON FONCTIONNEMENT DU DISPOSITIF.
UTILISATION / INDICATIONS :
L’attelle de marche STANDARD offre un maintien à coussins d’air comprimé pour les
fractures stables du pied et/ou de la cheville, les entorses aigues de la cheville et un
usage postopératoire. Efficace pour la guérison des fractures et le traitement des
œdèmes (gonflement).
AVERTISSEMENTS ET PRÉCAUTIONS :
Ne pas gonfler excessivement les coussins d’air. Un gonflage incorrect des
coussins d’air peut causer une irritation cutanée importante, particulièrement
chez les patients souffrant d’une neuropathie diabétique (une maladie des nerfs
périphériques chez les diabétiques). Examiner fréquemment la peau pour déceler la
présence de « points chauds » et d’irritation. En cas de changements au niveau de
la peau ou d’inconfort, diminuer la compression des coussins d’air. Ne pas utiliser
ce dispositif en cas d’insensibilité postopératoire ou due à une maladie des nerfs ou
de la peau.
Faire preuve de prudence lors de déplacements sur des surfaces glissantes ou
mouillées pour éviter toute blessure.
MISE EN PLACE :
Une gaine en coton ou pour plâtre améliore le confort – NON INCLUSE
1) PRÉPARER L’ATTELLE
• Défaire les sangles, retirer le panneau avant et ouvrir le chausson.
2) METTRE L’ATTELLE EN PLACE
• En position assise, placer le pied dans l’attelle en faisant reposer le talon contre
le dos de celle-ci. Enrouler le chausson autour du pied puis de la jambe (Fig. A).
• Remettre le panneau avant en place: Positionner le panneau avant de façon à ce
que le logo Aircast se trouve au-dessus des orteils et que sa partie supérieure
soit fixée au chausson (Fig. B).
• Attacher les sangles de bas en haut (Fig. C). Serrer jusqu’à ce que l’attelle soit
bien ajustée sans causer d’inconfort.
3) AJUSTER LA COMPRESSION DES COUSSINS D’AIR
Les coussins d’air de l’attelle de marche STANDARD sont initialement dégonflés
• Gonfler en premier ceux qui se trouvent en contact avec la blessure. Faire
tourner le BOUTON DE SÉLECTION qui se trouve sur le côté droit de l’attelle
jusqu’à atteindre le chiffre approprié (Fig. D). Le chiffre 1 gonfle le coussin
situé sur le côté droit et le chiffre 2 gonfle le coussin situé sur le côté gauche.
La position verrouillée (Lock) devrait être utilisée une fois les deux coussins
gonflés. Cela empêchera un dégonflage accidentel.
• Pour gonfler le coussin, placer le doigt sur le petit trou au-dessus du gros
gonfleur situé sur le côté droit supérieur de l’attelle (Fig. E). Gonfler jusqu’à ce
que le coussin soit bien ajusté.
• Pour gonfler l’autre coussin, faire tourner le BOUTON DE SÉLECTION pour atteindre
le chiffre approprié, puis appuyer plusieurs fois sur le gros gonfleur. Gonfler jusqu’à
ce que le coussin soit bien ajusté. Une fois les deux coussins gonflés, faire tourner
le BOUTON DE SÉLECTION jusqu’à la position verrouillée (Lock).
• En cas de gonflage excessif, dégonfler les coussins d’air.
4) DÉGONFLER LES COUSSINS D’AIR
• Pour dégonfler les coussins d’air, faire tourner le BOUTON DE SÉLECTION qui
se trouve sur le côté droit de l’attelle jusqu’à atteindre le chiffre pour le coussin
approprié (Fig. D).
• Appuyer sur le petit bouton de déverrouillage situé sur la partie supérieure
droite de l’attelle et maintenir la pression (Fig. F).
• Dégonfler jusqu’à atteindre la pression désirée.
REMARQUE : Dégonfler les coussins d’air avant de retirer l’attelle pour qu’elle
s’ajuste correctement lors d’une nouvelle mise en place.
REMARQUE : Une pression supérieure offre plus de support lors de la marche ; une
pression inférieure est plus confortable en position assise ou inclinée.
La pression peut aussi être ajustée en serrant ou desserrant les
sangles.
REMARQUE : L’attelle peut être ajustée avec une scie à plâtre ou des ciseaux afin
de s’adapter aux mollets plus larges.
INSTRUCTIONS DE NETTOYAGE :
LE REVÊTEMENT EN MOUSSE PEUT ÊTRE LAVÉ À LA MAIN À L’EAU TIÈDE (30 °C),
AVEC UN DÉTERGENT DOUX, ET SÉCHÉ À L’AIR. NE PAS PLACER DANS UN
SÈCHE-LINGE OU UTILISER UNE AUTRE SOURCE DE CHALEUR POUR LE SÉCHAGE.
HAUTE ALTITUDE :
À HAUTE ALTITUDE, LES COUSSINS D’AIR SE DILATENT AU-DELÀ DE LEUR
NIVEAU OPTIMAL. AJUSTER LA PRESSION DES COUSSINS D’AIR EN SERRANT OU
DESSERRANT LES SANGLES.
GARANTIE :
DJO Global, LLC réparera ou remplacera tout ou partie du produit et de ses
accessoires en cas de vice de matériau ou de fabrication pendant une durée de
six mois à compter de la date de vente.
